Key adapter for smart door locks
Tedee Bar is a small key adapter that allows smart door locks that are fixed directly on the key to be mounted on the shaft of a Tedee PRO compatible cylinder instead. The smart PRO lock is fixed on a special SLR security cylinder from GERDA on the compatible shaft. Tedee Bar also allows mounting on specially manufactured PRO compatible shafts in third party cylinders. The adapter can be easily attached to the cylinder shaft thanks to the two notches. This makes it compatible with locks that are fixed on a key and turn the key using the integrated motor.
Tedee GO installation on the PRO-compatible cylinder
The Tedee GO door lock is also normally mounted directly on the key inserted in the cylinder. With this type of installation, the springs in the cylinder can wear out after a long time. In addition, mounting on a cylinder shaft is advantageous in that the lock is mounted centrally and therefore uses less energy to turn than when mounted directly on the key. As the GO version is mounted directly on the key head, this adapter is required if it is to be mounted on a Tedee-PRO-compatible cylinder shaft.
Note: Retrofitting using this key adapter is possible for cylinder shafts with a double notch. These were produced from summer 2023, a shaft with only one notch is unfortunately not compatible and must be replaced in this case.
